Overview of The Wesleyan Youth Ministry in Western Jamaica
Youth President : Pastor Rayon Haughton
“The mission of Wesleyan Youth is to glorify God through evangelizing, nurturing and equipping youth to be spiritual leaders committed to lifelong service to Christ and His church…”
It is with this vision and mission in view that we as the Wesleyan Youth in Western Jamaica seek to engage our youth into wholesome and Spiritually uplifting activities that will foster growth and development of our youth to be the spiritual leaders of tomorrow. As such, we must focus on what God’s plan and purpose is for youth in His Kingdom. The scripture says in 1 John 2:14c “I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.” This allows us to recognize that God is very much in the business of calling young people and as Western Jamaica Youths we do not want to ignore that call. It is with this willingness to answer that we seek God’s guidance and leadership as a youth department; knowing that ‘only what is done for Christ that will truly last.’
